Johnson & Johnson (J&J) was heavily criticized when it hired BroadSpire Services Inc. to handle the DePuy hip replacement recall.  Some critics claimed that to cut down on the expenses entailed in facing all complaints filed following the recall, DePuy is outsourcing the handling of the recall. Hip Replacements Manufactured by DePuy to Undergo FDA Review

About four hundred complaints were received by the United States Food and Drugs Administration regarding the apparent adverse effects DePuy's ASR XL Acetabular System and ASR Hip Resurfacing System inflicts upon recipients resulting in the hip replacement recall.
